For our New Zealand born client living in Brixton, we gave a New York twist on modern Scandi. This Modest apartment had huge potential but several issues needed our attention - little storage and no straight walls. The room was an unusual shape and this was its best but also most tricky feature!
We flipped the room around and created a huge media wall to house the TV and everyday things like books and decorative objects. This is now behind the entrance to the room and as a result the first thing you see is the gorgeous sectional sofa instead of a huge TV.
“We commissioned the African print inspired cushions from fashion textile designer Amelia graham, giving the room some edge.”
“The talented Primary Grey created a bespoke formica wedge-shaped table to colour match our chosen textiles. The benches now fit the kitchen shape perfectly, comfortably seating 8 and with stacking stools that can also double up as side tables, that number can even extend to 12. ”
“We simplified the lines of the room with a wrap around curtain that covers two walls, creating hidden storage behind them in alcoves.”
“We kept the walls white but added interest with bespoke colours on the kitchen cabinetry helping to clearly define both spaces.”
